An enormous, abandoned country house is the setting for this dance film by director Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen and choreographer Ed Wubbe, who together interpreted Gustav Mahler’s masterpiece Lieder eines Fahrenden Gesellen. An old man revives an elusive love, which, while dancing through the corridors, keeps slipping away from the movements of the revolving camera. Dance and camera movements merge with the stages of Mahler’s passionate song.
